Band
Band at ADAPA gives students the opportunity to experience the joy of making music together. Students learn how their individual effort contributes to a larger sound, a shared story, and a stronger sense of teamwork. Through instruction, rehearsal, and performance, band students develop musicianship, discipline, focus, and confidence while discovering how music can become a meaningful form of personal and spiritual expression.
Program overview
The Concert Band program at ADAPA provides students with the chance to explore various musical instruments and receive personalized instruction to excel in their chosen instrument. Private lessons are offered to enhance skills, and students participate in a wind band that performs at least two concerts annually. The program also offers additional performance opportunities, allowing students to showcase their musical talents and growth.
Beginner Band
Never had any music instruction? No problem. You pick any wind instrument or percussion, and we will teach you all you need to know to become an excellent musician. We recommend that you be at least 10 or a rising 5th grader to begin an instrument. You However, if your kid has the heart and the drive, we will consider younger ages. You will learn through individual lessons, practicing at home using our online forum, and in different group settings, including at least 2 hours a week practicing with your band. The successful student will be in the Beginner Band for a minimum of 1 year but 2 years is typical.
Concert Band
The student joining our Concert Band will have mastered all of the fundamentals of their instrument. They know most of their notes and fingerings, and how to read music. They have a minimum of 1 year in our Beginner band or have been in a band elsewhere. They will qualify for this band by playing a solo at one of the concerts.
Performance Band
The Student joining our performance band will typically have at least 3 years of prior band experience. They are dedicated to practicing a minimum average of 30 minutes a day and have mastered different time signatures and all of the major and minor scales. They have at least an intermediate level of Music Theory and have completed the solo to qualify for getting into this band.
