Meet Our Founder
Mrs. Cathy Ballard
Cathy Ballard is the founder and guiding heart behind Agnus Dei Academy, a faith-centered performing arts program serving children of all ages—especially homeschoolers and students with physical, cognitive, or behavioral challenges. With more than 10 years of experience teaching band from elementary through high school, Cathy has dedicated her life to helping every child discover their God-given gifts through drama, music, and the arts.

As a mother of six, Cathy has successfully homeschooled each of her children, all of whom have either graduated college with honors or been accepted into college programs (her youngest is currently earning dual-credit classes). Her firsthand experience shaping well-rounded, high-achieving learners is the foundation of her compassionate, individualized teaching approach.

Throughout the past decade, Cathy has played an instrumental role in multiple homeschool co-ops, teaching everything from science and history to music theory, individual lessons, and full ensemble band. Her work has supported the academic growth of hundreds of children, many of whom credit her with helping them thrive academically, artistically, and personally.

In the performing arts world, Cathy brings extensive hands-on experience as the lead sound and lighting technician for numerous drama productions, as well as a creative force behind set design and backstage coordination. Her ability to merge technical skill with artistic vision has made her a cornerstone of every program she serves.

Cathy currently serves as the Head Board Member at Oaks of Righteousness, a thriving homeschool co-op supporting more than 100 students and making a profound impact on the educational and spiritual development of families in the community.

At the center of everything she does is her unwavering desire to reflect the love of Christ. Cathy has a remarkable gift for working with children who have been overlooked, misunderstood, or doubted—especially those with mental, physical, or behavioral disabilities. She sees potential where others see limitations, and time after time, she helps students shine in ways they never believed possible.
Her mission through Agnus Dei Academy is simple and powerful:
to nurture confidence, creativity, and character in every child, while honoring the God-given light within them.
